Dear doctor,
I have been informed of a primary CMV infection between weeks 17th and 25th of pregnancy, probably around week 21 (I got sick). Now I am at week 27.
Up to know ultrasounds are completely normal, I have been advised to perform an IRM at week 32, but I wonder if I could benefit from a globuline treatment.
I live in Belgium and here I have been advised not to do it as there are not evidences of damage in the ultrasounds. I would appreciate if you could refer me to an specialist in Belgium if you know one.
Thanks in advance.

RISPONDE il Prof. Giovanni Nigro, Direttore della Clinica Pediatrica Universitaria e della Scuola di Specializzazione in Pediatria dell’Università dell’Aquila - Ospedale San Salvatore – ASL1.

Almudena,
There is in Loeven a professor of Gynecology who participated to the European Biotest study for hyperimmunoglobulin efficacy, I do not remember his name, who could help you.
However if you come to Rome I can assist you for treatment and, in the same day, you can have fetal MRI performed by a clever neuroradiologist. This examination is now performed with suitable results since the 20th week of pregnancy. If you need further explanations you can call me at +39.3387688054
